In today’s top stories, Sony actually showed its next-generation console, and it’s a head-turner (the games looked good, too). Meanwhile, big software players are taking a stand against the police using their facial recognition technology.

Sony’s PlayStation division showed off the new look for its upcoming PlayStation 5, as well as new games including Gran Turismo 7 and Hitman III.

The PlayStation head, in an interview with CNET, discusses the new PS5 design, launch games like Spider-Man, and pre-orders.

“We want to use our rights to stand up for the things we believe in,” Snap CEO Evan Spiegel says.

Sonos fires back by accusing the search giant of “strong arm tactics.”

The company says it won’t sell the system to law enforcement until federal regulations are in place. The move follows similar steps by Amazon and IBM.

Cox left the company over a year ago amid disagreements with CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Biden’s campaign wants Facebook to fact-check content and ads from politicians.
