Google announced a new feature Thursday for its search engine: a message that tells you if your query isn’t surfacing many related results. The feature is meant to let users know that Google “probably [hasn’t] found what you’re looking for,” the company said in a blog post.
The window will also suggest tips for searching more effectively in the future.
In a few dozen oddly specific searches, I was unable to generate the message, and Google noted in its post that the feature isn’t meant to show up often. So whether it inspires competitions to stump Google or it’s forgotten tomorrow, the impact of this quality-of-life upgrade…
