Google sued by US Department of Justice and 11 states in landmark antitrust case – Source CNET Tech

The US Department of Justice on Tuesday filed a landmark lawsuit against Google that accuses the tech giant of illegally holding monopolies in search and search advertising, the culmination of a months-long investigation into alleged anticompetitive practices at the search giant. Eleven states are joining the suit.

The complaint accuses Google of violating antitrust laws by engaging in anticompetitive practices to preserve a monopoly in web search, Jeff Rosen, US Deputy Attorney General, told reporters on a conference call.
